Personal Profile

I qualified in February 1997. I worked for a couple of years in medicine before starting postgraduate training in Anaesthesiology in Mumbai, India.

After qualification I worked as a lecturer in St John`s Medical college Hospital as a lecturer. I moved to the UK in 2003 and have worked as a SHO in Carmarthen, South Wales before moving to Scotland to complete my training as a registrar.

I did my fellowship in Pain Medicine at Whipps cross Hospital, St Bartholomew`s Hospital and Royal London Hospital, London. I am also the Regional Advisor in Pain Medicine for North of Scotland.

I work as a Consultant In a Anaesthesia & Pain Medicine at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. I spend most of my time in pain medicine. I do anaesthetise patients undergoing hepatobilary surgery at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. 

Clinical interests

  • Chronic pain -  special area of interest is spinal pain & Chronic Abdominal pain.
  • Spinal pain  - diagnostic blocks, Radiofrequency treatment, epidural & Spinal cord stimulation.
  • Splanchnic nerve block & celiac plexus block for abdominal pain.
