Dr Singh has a strong research and teaching background with extensive publications. He has lectured widely at meetings including World Congress, International Brain Injury Association, European Society of Rehabilitation Medicine. He has published some of the largest ever studies on brain injury outcome which help to guide the best treatment.
He is National Training Programme Director for UK trainees and the UK member of the European Executive Committee for Rehabilitation Medicine. He has written part of the European Guidelines and the Trainee Manual. He has also won several prizes for his work including the Philip Nichols Prize and George Murdoch Award.
Training
Dr Singh studied Medicine at Cambridge and Edinburgh Universities and subsequently trained in Edinburgh and London (UCLH and Royal Free) Teaching Hospitals in General Medicine and Diabetes/Endocrinology. These medical skills are vital in everyday patient management. He then chose to specialise in neurological and physical rehabilitation, training in Edinburgh at one of the foremost research and training centres for Rehabilitation Medicine in the UK. He won the Myre-Sim Bursary to complete part of his training at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences. He was elected as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2010.
