About Dr Raj Rameshshanker

Personal Profile

He completed his specialist training in Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine within the North West London region. He has completed Doctorate in Medicine degree from Imperial college London in 2020. He spent four years at the Wolfson Academic Medical Institute, St. Marks Hospital, to attain advanced skills in Endoscopy including enteroscopy, capsule endoscopy and advanced colonoscopy. He had the opportunity to complete one year fellowship in ERCP at Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College NHS Trust. He was appointed as a full time NHS Consultant at Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in London in 2018.

He is an honorary clinical lecturer at the Imperial College London and involved in several, multi-centre clinical research in early detection, characterisation, and treatment of colo rectal polyps and cancer.

He leads the advanced endoscopy services for the NHS Foundation Trust including advanced colonoscopy resections and ERCP. He has a wealth of experience of managing a wide range Gastrointestinal, Hepatology and pancreato biliary problems. He provides Outpatients and inpatients services at his NHS Trust. He is part of the emergency gastrointestinal bleed services team at his trust and neighbouring Harefield Hospital. He has published extensively on interventional endoscopy and quality assurance in endoscopy in peer reviewed articles for international journals. He is committed to promote endoscopy research and training.

He has given lectures on endoscopy practice at national and international conferences.
