Mr Raj Kugan is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising exclusively in foot and ankle conditions. He has particular expertise in complex reconstructive surgery and is one of a small number of surgeons offering Total Ankle Replacement (TAR), a highly specialised procedure used to treat severe ankle arthritis.
His main private practice is based at Droitwich Spa Hospital, where he provides assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for a wide range of foot and ankle problems. He also provides NHS care within the region as part of his wider orthopaedic practice.
Mr Kugan graduated in Medicine from the University of Aberdeen in 1998. He completed his early surgical training in Scotland before further developing his expertise through advanced academic and clinical training.
He completed a Master’s degree (MSc) in Orthopaedics at University College London, followed by specialist orthopaedic training within the Oxford Deanery, which he completed in 2012.
He then undertook advanced subspecialist fellowships in foot and ankle surgery, including a BOFAS-recognised fellowship and an international fellowship with Professor Beat Hintermann at a Centre of Excellence for Foot and Ankle Surgery in Switzerland. He also completed a specialist Frame Fellowship at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre under Professor Martin McNally, a leading expert in bone and infection surgery.
With over a decade of consultant experience, Mr Kugan focuses entirely on foot and ankle surgery. His clinical work includes both routine and highly complex conditions.
