About Quentin Nunes

Personal Profile

Mr Nunes is a highly skilled surgeon, with over 20 years’ clinical experience working at high volume NHS centres across the UK. He undertook Higher Surgical Training in the East Midlands (North) and Mersey deaneries and is on the GMC Specialist Register for General Surgery (CCT). 

He has extensive management experience and was the Clinical Lead for Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Surgery at the Royal Blackburn Hospital, working with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and non-clinicians to provide the best care for patients.

 

Mr Nunes is a GMC-recognised trainer in General Surgery and was part of the medical teaching faculty at Nottingham and Liverpool universities. In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the prestigious 'J D Hardcastle Prize for Undergraduate Teaching' by the University of Nottingham.

 

Mr Nunes is an accomplished clinical academic whose translational research career (bench to bedside, including clinical trials) has been supported by 4 NIHR & 1 RCS England Fellowship awards.

He was awarded a PhD (Surgery & Oncology) by the University of Liverpool and has published over 75 papers in high impact peer-reviewed journals and books (Post-cholecystectomy problems. Leslie H. Blumgart - Surgery of the Liver and Biliary Tract, 4th edition,
