Personal Profile

Mr Choudry is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at East Lancashire hospitals NHS Trust, working at both Royal Blackburn and Burnley General Hospitals. Mr Choudry has a specialist interest in lower limb arthroplasty, surgery for the hip and knee, paediatric orthopaedics and trauma. Born and bred in Blackburn Mr Choudry took an opportunity to study medicine at Charles university in Prague, Czech Republic graduating in 1999. Speaking several languages he returned to the northwest to undertake his surgical training, gaining membership to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2004 and an Intercollegiate Fellow in trauma and orthopaedics in 2009.

He was awarded the certificate of completion of surgical training in 2010. Mr Choudry was appointed as a consultant Orthopaedic surgeon at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS trust in 2011 having completed fellowships in lower limb arthroplasty a paediatric orthopaedic fellowship at the Robert Jones Agnes Hunt Hospital in Oswestry, and an AO trauma fellowship in Stuttgart Germany. Mr Choudry has an intersest in education and research publishing and presenting nationally and internationally. Mr Choudry is a faculty member for several courses run in the northwest for orthopaedic trainees and is a Honary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the university of Central Lancashire (UCLAN).

Mr Choudry is married with two young boys and enjoys sports particularly playing football and travelling abroad learning and seeing new cultures.
