About Dr Pradeep Desai

Personal Profile

Dr Desai trained at PGI, Chandigarh (India) before working as a consultant anaesthetist for 18 years. Working among the rural poor, he developed a passion for pain relief which led to a fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Centre, Texas.

After moving to the UK, he rapidly obtained his fellowships (FRCA, FFPMRCA) and continued to specialise in Pain Medicine. He established a tertiary referral centre for Neuromodulation (Spinal cord stimulation ) in the NHS,( Heatherwood and Wexham Park NHS Trust)  where currently he is the Clinical Lead. As Regional Advisor for Pain Medicine in the Oxford Deanery, he oversees training for doctors specialising in pain medicine.

His particular expertise is advanced pain interventions. His approach is to systematically isolate the main trigger causing pain and give the most appropriate treatment.
