About Mr Peter Deutsch

Personal Profile

Mr Deutsch is a Consultant ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) at Droitwich Spa Hospital, where he provides specialist assessment and management of a wide range of ENT conditions.

He has a particular specialist interest in head and neck surgery, including the treatment of thyroid, parathyroid, and salivary gland disorders. He is an experienced high-volume surgeon in these areas and is committed to delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred care.

Mr Deutsch graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2012 and went on to complete his specialist ENT and Head & Neck training within the West Midlands. During his training, he was awarded the Royal Society of Medicine Gold Medal in recognition of his outstanding performance in the FRCS (ORL-HNS) final examination.

Following completion of his training, he undertook a highly competitive international fellowship in advanced Head & Neck and Skull Base Surgery in Brisbane, Australia. This fellowship provided extensive exposure to complex cancer surgery, reconstructive procedures, and advanced sinus surgery techniques, further strengthening his expertise in managing complex ENT conditions.

He currently holds the position of Head & Neck Cancer and Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Lead at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. In this role, he works closely with colleagues across multiple specialties to ensure patients receive coordinated, evidence-based, and personalised care. He also contributes to the regional expert advisory group for head and neck and thyroid cancers, helping to guide best practice across the region.

Mr Deutsch is committed to clear communication and shared decision-making, ensuring patients are fully informed and involved in their treatment choices. He believes in tailoring care to each individual’s needs and priorities.

Alongside his clinical work, he is actively involved in research, clinical trials, audit, and quality improvement initiatives. He regularly contributes to academic writing and peer review for medical journals and plays an active role in the teaching, training, and supervision of resident doctors within the NHS.
