About Dr Paul Worth

Personal Profile

Dr Worth trained in medicine at Cambridge and Oxford Universities qualifying in 1992, then in London including at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. His PhD was for research into the genetics of movement disorders. 
He was appointed consultant neurologist in Norwich in 2004 and has been a consultant in neurology at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge since 2013 where he has also been clinical director for neurosciences since 2021. 

Previous leadership roles have included the Parkinson’s Excellence Network eastern region and specialty lead for research in neurological disorders and Parkinson’s in the Clinical Research Network (Eastern), member of Council of the Association of British Neurologists. He is a member of the UK Parkinson’s Clinical Studies Group to identify gaps in our knowledge and to help develop ideas and prioritise research into Parkinson’s and related disorders. He is lead for neurology clinical teaching at the University of Cambridge.

 

Clinical Interests

  • Common neurological problems such as headache, sensory disorders, weakness, migraine and fits / epilepsy.
  • Diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson’s and movement disorders such as ataxia, dystonia, progressive supranuclear palsy, multiple systems atrophy.
  • Botulinum toxin for the treatment of dystonia
