About Dr Paul Mulcrone

Personal Profile

Please note: Our private GP service is only available to self-funding patients. Payment must be paid on booking your appointment. Any additional fees i.e. for imaging, blood tests, procedures or investigations, will be invoiced to you separately by the hospital.

Dr Paul Mulcrone is a General Practitioner with an interest in joint injections, prostate screening and dermatology at Woodlands Hospital in Darlington.

He has been working at Woodlands Hospital since 2022. During this time, he has enjoyed being able to offer his patients longer appointments. This gives them more time to express their health concerns. Dr Mulcrone has also been able to give patients a quicker diagnosis and the reassurance they need because of shorter wait times with facilities such as Imaging at Woodlands.

He completed medical school at The University of Dundee in 1998. After various hospital posts in the North East of England and Australia, Dr Mulcrone graduated in the GP Cleveland VTS scheme in 2004. He qualified as a GP trainer in 2011, and has helped teach and train many local GP trainees. He has worked as a GP partner at Yarm Medical Centre for the last 17 years.

While working at Yarm, he was posted with the local Teesside Commissioning Group and was Clinical Director of the Primary Care Network. This covered Yarm, Eaglescliffe, Ingleby Barwick and Stillington.

Dr Mulcrone believes in shared decision-making with his patients and is committed to delivering the best quality of care and experience for all of his patients.

Outside of work, Dr Mulcrone's main interest is football, with his team being Everton FC. He also enjoys walking his dog, a working cocker spaniel, at the weekend.
