About Dr Oliver Chadwick

Personal Profile

Dr Oliver Chadwick is an experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist based in central Scotland who is experienced in performing quality cataract and oculoplastic (eyelid) surgery, alongside urgent and general ophthalmology care.

He was appointed as a consultant ophthalmologist in NHS Forth Valley and NHS Golden Jubilee in 2022 following his specialist ophthalmology training at the Tennent’s Institute of Ophthalmology in Glasgow.

Dr Chadwick is an highly skilled cataract and oculoplastic surgeon who regularly performs high quality cataract and oculoplastic surgery on the NHS and in the private sector with excellent surgical success rates. His clinical experience includes complex and challenging cataract surgery as well as implanting toric intraocular lenses to correct astigmatism, providing clearer vision without glasses. Dr Chadwick’s day-to-day practice includes managing problems such as in-turning/out-turning eyelids (Entropion/Ectropion), excess upper eyelid skin and droopy eyelids (Ptosis). His regular NHS practice involves the excision and reconstruction of benign and malignant peri-ocular skin lesions such as Basal Cell Carcinomas (BCC), removing the lesion and providing the best possible cosmetic result.

Dr Chadwick is a member of the RCOphth skills faculty, teaching ophthalmology trainees from across the UK in London. He is the lead for ophthalmology training at NHS Forth Valley as well as the local Royal College of Ophthalmologist’s college tutor. He is dedicated to passing his skills and experience on to trainees through involvement in the West of Scotland Ophthalmology training programme and has recently completed additional training in the management of very dense cataracts at a world renowned eye hospital in India.

Dr Chadwick is happy to see patients with urgent or general ophthalmology problems and manage your issue medically as required. Dr Chadwick believes that you need to be fully informed of your options and will prioritise your needs, provide honest advice on all options and support you in making an informed decision about surgery, ensuring that you are provided with the best possible outcome.
