He graduated in year 1998 and did three years of residency programme to MD in Ophthalmology at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India. He became a Member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. He went on to carry out his sub-specialty training in Medical retina and general ophthalmology including cataract surgery, as a senior clinical fellowship at Birmingham and obtained Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
Mr Manjunatha is interested in research and is working in several research projects in the field of retina and has several national and international publications and presentations. He was finalist for 'Leader of the year - 2019' at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. His team were also finalist for the prestigious national 'HSJ awards'. He is very passionate about medical education and is educational supervisor and clinical supervisor for many trainees. He is the lead consultant for the eye injection services and laser services at UHCW. He is keen on international collaborations and has closely worked with Kenyatta National Hospital, Kenya to implement and modernise retinal eye service.
Mr Manjunatha has been involved in providing cataract pathway and medical retinal conditions at UHCW. He has been involved in preparation of several guidelines in various medical conditions like diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, Age-related Macular degeneration and others.
He enjoys playing and watching cricket and table-tennis; takes part in dance and drama to raise fund for charity organisations like RNIB. He loves spending time with family, reading history and travel.
