Dr Nisith Sheth is a consultant dermatologist and dermatological surgeon at the St John's Institute of Dermatology, one of the world's leading centres for patients with skin problems, based at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals. He has expertise in general dermatology (such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, other rashes, scarring, ulcers, areas of discolouration and skin cancer) and cosmetic dermatology.
He subspecialises in Mohs micrographic surgery, laser treatment of skin and photodynamic therapy. He is one of only a handful of doctors in the UK to have an accredited fellowship in this discipline. He has had further international training in cutaneous surgery and cosmetic dermatology at Vancouver General Hospital, Canada and the Oregon Health Sciences University, USA, two of the world's leading centres in these fields.
Dr Sheth graduated from University College Hospital Medical School with class and national prizes in dermatology. He has published original articles in peer-reviewed journals. He undertook research in melanoma skin cancer for which he was a co-winner of the Everett C Fox MD award at the largest yearly international skin conference, the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting. He also has qualifications in law and has served as an expert witness in dermatology and dermatological surgery cases.
Dr Sheth is active in teaching undergraduates, postgraduates and general practitioners. He has been invited to lecture nationally and internationally and is listed in the Who's Who of Medicine and Healthcare 2009-10.
