Mr Nimish Shah has been working in Ophthalmology since 1999. He did post-graduate Ophthalmology training in India and was awarded Master of Surgery: Ophthalmology degree in 2002 by University of Rajasthan, India. He worked in private sector in India for a year till 2003. He undertook further Ophthalmology experience in UK from 2004 onwards working in various eye units across NHS Trusts.
Mr Shah developed keen interest in Medical retinal diseases including Age related macular degeneration (ARMD), diabetic retinopathy and retinal vein occlusion. He also undertook fellowship training in Medical retina at Gloucestershire NHS Foundation Trust in 2008/09. Mr. Shah worked as Locum Consultant Ophthalmologist at Rotherham General Hospital from May 2010 before joining his current substantive Consultant Ophthalmologist post at Great Western NHS Hospital, Swindon in April 2012 and has been working since than.
Mr Shah has keen interest and expertise in Small incision (phacoemulsification) cataract surgery with ocular lens implantation (standard and premium intraocular lens including multifocal IOL, Toric IOL), General Ophthalmology, Medical Retinal diseases (Diabetic Retinopathy, Age related macular degeneration, Retinal vein occlusion etc) and Intravitreal therapies.
