About Nikos Evangelou

Biography

Nikos is the Professor of Neurology at the University of Nottingham with a busy clinical and academic practice. He has published over 100 scientific articles in prestigious academic journals; is a member of the Association of British Neurology advisory committee for Multiple Sclerosis; and a regular presenter of his research at international meetings, keeping up to date with the latest developments in neurology. His research has been supported by the Medical Research Council, the MS Society, the National Institute of Health Research, the USA Patient-Centred Outcomes Research Institute, the University of Nottingham, the Nottingham University Hospital Charity and many charitable organisations and individuals.

Nikos uses this base to train medical students as well as lecture both national and international neurologists. His research group in Nottingham has an international reputation for research on Multiple Sclerosis, head trauma, peripheral neuropathies, balance, spinal cord diseases and other brain diseases.

This knowledge of neurology is often sought after by lawyers, and he is a regular expert witness for the Crown Prosecution and UK police constabularies.

At the Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham NHS Trust, Nikos runs clinics in headache, general neurology and Multiple Sclerosis.
