About Mr Nikhil Kulkarni

Personal Profile

Mr Nikhil Kulkarni qualified in 1998 in India and after undergoing surgical training there, then came to the UK in 2003.

He has undergone training in East Midlands, Wales, Scotland and Leeds, and has been working as a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at United Lincolnshire Hospitals (ULH) since 2017, He undertakes most of his major colorectal resections with the laparoscopic approach and is in the process of adopting newer techniques, like the robotic approach.

He undertook a fellowship in Colorectal Surgery at St James Hospital in Leeds. Mr Kulkarni is the audit lead of the surgical department at Lincoln and steered multi-centre large studies during the COVID pandemic at ULH. He is the colorectal surgery speciality lead for undergraduate trainees of Lincoln Medical School (foundation for practice). Mr Kulkarni has numerous publications in international journals and has also organised CME events at the hospital.
