Personal Profile

Mr Nick Savva trained at St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School and on the Wessex Orthopaedic Rotation. He has a broad experience of general orthopaedic surgery and trauma. He specialises in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery. He also has a particular interest in sports injuries and arthroscopic surgery.

Nick was awarded an AO Trauma Travelling Fellowship to Seattle in 2004. He keeps an active interest in the treatment of trauma, particularly of the lower limb, ankle and foot.

Winning the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (BOFAS) Travelling Fellowship for 2006, he spent this year in the world-renowned Brisbane Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle unit working with Terry Saxby.

In 2008 Nick was the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society Travelling fellow which allowed him to visit a number of centres of excellence in the United States.

Mr Savva holds an outpatient clinic at The Winterbourne Hospital on Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings and provides consultation for patients suffering from all aspects of foot and ankle problems, such as painful feet, bunions, toe problems, in-growing toe nails, flat foot, sprains, ankle pain, tendonitis, tendinopathy, Achilles rupture, sore feet and ankle fractures.

Nick Savva also specialises in degenerative conditions such as arthritis and bunions as well as sports injuries and trauma. Nick also provides minimally invasive bunion and lesser toe surgery.  He has established a specialist foot and ankle service at his NHS base and at the The Winterbourne Hospital. He has also worked as part of the Foot and Ankle team at the Fortius Clinic in London.

Mr Savva regularly writes medico-legal reports focusing on industrial foot and ankle injuries.

Mr Savva works closely with physiotherapists, orthotists, podiatrists, anaesthetists, nurses and radiologists to provide a comprehensive team approach for each patient.

Away from work Nick is an enthusiastic kite surfer. He also enjoys sailing and cycling.
