About Nese Targen

Personal Profile

Nese is a senior clinical dietitian specialising in complex obesity and bariatric surgery with a demonstrated history of working in NHS and private practice.

She started her career as a clinical dietitian at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust and transitioned into specialising in weight management and bariatric surgery. She has since worked at several prestigious, culturally diverse teaching NHS trusts in London including King’s College Hospital, Homerton University Hospital and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, where she made significant contributions as a specialist bariatric dietitian.  Nese left the NHS to fully focus on her private practice. She provides care in both English and Turkish languages.

Nese works with individuals considering bariatric surgery as well as those who have already undergone the procedure. She provides evidence-based educational sessions to patients preparing for various types of surgeries (gastric banding, sleeve gastrectomy, endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty, gastric bypass, duodenal switch, gastric balloon) and offering ongoing dietary support and guidance post-operatively. Nese is committed to helping patients achieve long-term success by empowering and supporting them through every stage of their journey. In addition, Nese also specializes in assisting individuals who have regained weight after bariatric surgery. She works with them to identify challenges and implement strategies to restore healthy habits and achieve lasting results. She also provides post-operative follow-up for patients who have had surgery abroad

Nese also collaborates with individuals seeking to lose weight through non-surgical methods, such as personalized weight management sessions or weight loss medications such as Saxenda, Wegovy, Mounjaro. She provides educational sessions on mindful eating, helps individuals foster a positive relationship with food, and guides them in making healthier dietary choices while developing sustainable eating habits and routines.

Nese frequently participates in national and international conferences, seminars and study days where delivers presentations, takes part in discussion panels, and stays updated on the latest scientific research. This commitment enables her to consistently offer evidence-based care to her patients. She actively takes part national/international research/ resource development projects and deliver teaching sessions to university students and other healthcare professionals.
