Dr Navya Joseph is a Consultant Neurologist working at the London North West University NHS Trust. In October, she will be joining the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery at Chalfont Epilepsy Centre, as a Consultant in Epilepsy. She has a broad clinical practice in general neurology, managing all neurological conditions such as headache disorders, dementia, tremors, balance issues, central vertigo, peripheral neuropathy, muscle disorders, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and epilepsy. She is very approachable and has received excellent patient feedback. 

She completed MBBS and did her internship at St John’s Medical College followed by MD Internal medicine training at Bangalore Medical College- both renowned training institutes in India. She then undertook Neurology residency training at the University of Nebraska Medical Centre (UNMC), USA, gaining extensive experience in both acute and outpatient neurology. She worked a year in the US and moved to the UK in 2022 as an NHS Consultant Neurologist. She manages a large acute and general neurology service within her Trust. Her subspecialty interests are Epilepsy and Headache disorders. She does First Fit clinics and is part of the Epilepsy Steering Committee overseeing epilepsy services within the Trust. She is trained and has prior experience administering Botox for chronic migraine and is keen to establish this service within her Trust. She is also trained to read EEGs(Electroencephalograms). She has a background in research, with her previous work in cardiac imaging and epilepsy, and has many peer reviewed publications in international journals. She has received numerous awards during her training, including the “Provider of the Quarter” award at UNMC, which is presented to the physician recognized as the most efficient and compassionate provider of neurological care. She is actively involved in teaching and training, providing supervision and education to junior doctors, medical students, and specialist nurses.
