About Mr Naveed Afzal

Mr Naveed Afzal works as a Lead Consultant Urologist and Robotic Surgeon in Dorchester, Dorset. He had his Urology training in the UK, followed by a Post Doctoral Fellowship at Stanford University, California.

He specialises in Uro-Oncology and management of Urinary Stones. His main interest is diagnosis and management of prostate cancer. He has extensive experience in TRUS Bx, Trans perineal Template Bx, Robotically Assisted Nerve Sparing Da Vinci Radical Prostatectomy’s, Laparoscopic Nephrectomy/ Nephro Ureterectomy, Lap Pyeloplasty, PCNL, ESWL, Holmium Laser & HIFU.

He had his HIFU training in London with UKHIFU. Since then he has successfully offered HIFU treatment to many patients across Dorset.

Mr Afzal is a designated "da Vinci Robotic Surgeon." He and his team have been crucial in pioneering the breakthrough of Robotic Surgery in West Dorset. He has completed a highly respected training programme under the mentorship of some of the world’s most experienced Robotic Surgeons from various countries including the UK and Germany. He has a special interest in Nerve Sparing Radical Prostatectomy. He offers Robotic Surgery to patients at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital in Dorset, where he has a weekly operating slot.

Mr Afzal offers Optilume surgery, a minimally invasive procedure for treating bulbar urethral strictures (narrowing of the urethra) in adult men. Optilume is one of the latest innovations in urology.
