Mr Mudassar Ghazanfar is a Consultant General Surgeon based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. He brings extensive experience in both general surgery and minimally invasive (keyhole) techniques.

Mr Ghazanfar graduated in 2000 in Pakistan. He later completed his higher surgical training in both Oxford and Aberdeen.
He also holds a Master’s degree in Minimal Access Surgery from the University of Dundee, specialising in advanced keyhole procedures.

Mr Ghazanfar has broad experience in general surgery, with a particular focus on:

Pancreatitis
Biliary conditions (gallstones and bile duct disease)
Abdominal wall hernias
Groin hernias

He is highly skilled in keyhole (laparoscopic) surgery, offering patients minimally invasive treatment options where appropriate. He also leads the acute gallstone service at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
 
Mr Ghazanfar is passionate about education. He teaches medical students as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen Medical School. He is a faculty member with the Royal College of Surgeons for postgraduate training.

His research focuses on pancreatitis, biliary conditions, and liver cancer.
