Mr. Nie is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Cheshire. He has a special interest in Hip and Knee Surgery, including Joint Replacement and Sports Knee Injury. His NHS practice is at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust where he is the Lead surgeon on Enhanced Recovery and Day Case Joint Replacement.
Mr. Nie studied Medicine at the University of Oxford and graduated with Distinction and 1st Class Honours in 2012. He won the Casberd Scholarship during his time at Oxford. He completed his Orthopaedic Training in the Northwest Deanery and achieved Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2023. He then undertook the prestigious Knee Fellowship in Liverpool under the tutorage of Mr. Alasdair Santini. He won the Robert Jones Gold Medal from the British Orthopaedic Association for his essay entitled “The Psychology of Surgeon-Patient Relationship Revisited”.
Mr. Nie offers partial (uni-compartmental) knee replacement, total knee replacement, revision knee replacement, knee arthroscopy, meniscal surgery, anterior cruciate ligament surgery, and total hip replacement. He is passionate about providing the highest standard of care for patients in Cheshire and beyond. He is a firm advocate for Enhanced Recovery and Day Case Joint Replacement, having introduced the service at his NHS Hospital, to improve patient experience and satisfaction after surgery.
Outside clinical practice, Mr. Nie spends most of his time with his young family; they like to keep active and enjoy exploring the countryside surrounding Manchester and Cheshire. Mr. Nie has always taken a keen interest in fine art and photography; he paints and shoots regularly, and you can follow him on Instagram.
