Personal Profile

Mr Dominic Davenport is a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in hip and knee surgery and management of lower limb injuries.

Dominic qualified from Guy’s, King’s and St. Thomas’ Medical School and completed higher surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery in South London, including rotations at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, St. George’s Hospital and South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC). He completed a Master’s degree in Sports and Exercise Medicine at the University of Bath and then two specialist fellowship posts, learning advanced techniques in knee surgery at Guy’s Hospital and in hip surgery at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital

He has a particular interest in hip and knee replacement including partial knee replacement and his current research activities include management of hip dysplasia, day-case hip and knee surgery, and optimisation of patients’ health prior to joint replacement surgery. He has published widely in major Orthopaedic journals and regularly attends and presents at national and international conferences keeping up to date with the latest techniques. He has a passion for education, winning several awards for designing and delivering Orthopaedic training in the region, and has published journal articles and a textbook to assist medical students and junior doctors in their Orthopaedic training.

Dominic focuses on a personalised, patient-centred approach to treatment and offers both non-operative and operative treatments for a wide variety of hip and knee problems in adult patients of all age groups.
