David is a Consultant Urological Surgeon appointed at Salford Royal Hospital in 2009. He practices all aspects of general urology, with a sub-specialist interest in Urinary Tract Stone Disease (stones in the kidney, ureter or bladder) for which he offers a full range of treatment interventions including minimally invasive techniques and non-invasive shockwave lithotripsy (ESWL). David also has an expertise in stone prevention strategies. David has gained further specialist stone experience in the UK through the prestigious Ralph Shackman Travelling fellowship, and internationally in stone centres in Paris, Amsterdam and Turin.

Academically, David was awarded a Post Graduate Research Doctorate for studies into prostate cancer staging and received the Keith Yeates Gold Medal for outstanding performance in the FRCS(Urol) examination. His professional portfolio includes significant leadership roles in medical education and professional standards, including being an Associate Post Graduate Dean for NHS England.
