About Dr Mohamed Noureldin

Mohamen Noureldin Personal Profile

Mr Mohamed Noureldin is a Consultant Urological Surgeon whose main practice is at Hampshire Clinic. He has extensive experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of urological conditions, with specialist interests in prostate cancer, focal therapy, minimally invasive treatments for benign prostate enlargement, and robotic urological surgery.

He began his medical and surgical training in Egypt, including at Ain Shams University Hospitals in Cairo, before continuing his specialist urological training and career in the UK. He holds the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Urology (FRCS Urol) and has worked across several NHS organisations, including Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Mr Noureldin completed advanced fellowship training in robotic urological surgery at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, developing his expertise in minimally invasive surgical techniques and the management of urological cancers. His training has given him extensive experience in prostate cancer diagnosis, complex treatment decisions and modern surgical approaches designed to achieve effective outcomes while preserving patients’ quality of life.

Prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment

Prostate cancer is a key area of Mr Noureldin’s practice, with a particular focus on early diagnosis, risk assessment and personalised treatment. He has experience investigating raised prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels, interpreting prostate MRI scans and performing transperineal prostate biopsies, including MRI-targeted and fusion-guided techniques.

He has a specialist interest in focal therapy for localised prostate cancer, including high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) and cryotherapy. These treatments aim to target cancer within selected areas of the prostate while minimising damage to surrounding healthy tissue.

Mr Noureldin helps patients understand the benefits and limitations of the available treatment options, including active surveillance, focal therapy, surgery and radiotherapy, supporting them in making informed decisions about their care.

Benign prostate enlargement and urinary symptoms

Mr Noureldin also specialises in the management of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate that can cause urinary symptoms. He offers a range of treatment approaches, including transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP), GreenLight laser surgery, Rezūm water vapour therapy and Aquablation.

He takes an individualised approach to treatment, considering prostate size, symptom severity, patient preferences and the potential impact on urinary and sexual function when discussing suitable options.

General urology

Alongside his specialist interests, Mr Noureldin provides comprehensive care for a wide range of urological conditions, including blood in the urine, urinary tract infections, kidney and ureteric stones, urinary retention, and testicular and scrotal conditions. He also has experience in procedures such as cystoscopy, ureteroscopy and endoscopic treatment of urinary stones.

Research, teaching and professional interests

Mr Noureldin maintains an active interest in academic urology and clinical research. His doctoral research focused on the use of high-intensity focused ultrasound in prostate cancer treatment, reflecting his ongoing interest in focal therapy, long-term cancer control, functional outcomes and less invasive treatment options. He has also contributed to collaborative research projects, scientific publications, clinical audits and the evaluation of emerging technologies in prostate cancer and benign prostate surgery.

Alongside his clinical practice, he is involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, supporting the training of junior doctors and urology trainees within the NHS. His work includes clinical supervision, theatre-based teaching, case discussions and workplace-based assessments. He also contributes to multidisciplinary team meetings, clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives.

Mr Noureldin is committed to providing safe, evidence-based and patient-centred care. He believes in clear communication and shared decision-making, ensuring patients understand their diagnosis and the treatment options available to them. His approach combines specialist urological expertise with personalised care, aiming to achieve the best possible clinical outcomes while preserving quality of life.
