Dr. Mohamed El Naggar is a Consultant in Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine, dual-accredited by the General Medical Council (GMC No. 7480394). He holds a substantive consultant post at the London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, where he works across St Mark’s Hospital, Ealing Hospital, and Northwick Park Hospital. In addition to his NHS role, he offers private consultations and endoscopic procedures at the Syon Clinic, London. 

Dr. El Naggar is listed on the GMC Specialist Register in both Gastroenterology and General (Internal) Medicine since January 2023, following the successful completion of his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in December 2022. His professional career reflects a wealth of international experience, having trained and practised in the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, and Canada. 

He holds the Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (MRCP UK), awarded in February 2013, and subsequently passed the European Specialty Examination in Gastroenterology and Hepatology (ESEGH) in April 2021, demonstrating his advanced clinical knowledge and commitment to excellence in the field. Prior to his UK training, he earned his Internal Medicine Specialist Registration from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties in 2013, after passing the Saudi Internal Medicine Specialist Examination in the same year. 

Earlier in his career, Dr. El Naggar successfully completed the Medical Council of Canada Evaluating Examination (MCCEE) in 2008 and the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) in 2011, gaining valuable insights into the North American healthcare system and clinical standards. 

Dr. El Naggar obtained his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree between May 2004 and June 2006, with a thesis titled “Contribution of MRI in the Conflicts of the Cerebellopontine Angle.” His research background provided him with a strong foundation in diagnostic imaging, critical analysis, and evidence-based clinical practice—skills that continue to shape his approach to gastroenterology and internal medicine today. 

Clinically, Dr. El Naggar has extensive expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, polypectomy, and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). He manages a wide range of gastrointestinal and hepatopancreatobiliary diseases such as acid reflux, dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), coeliac disease, liver disease, and pancreatic and biliary disorders. He is also experienced in the management of gastrointestinal bleeding, motility disorders, and complex functional gut conditions. 

In addition to his specialist gastroenterology work, Dr. El Naggar has substantial experience in acute and general internal medicine, both in the UK and abroad. His dual accreditation allows him to provide comprehensive, integrated care for patients with both gastrointestinal and systemic medical conditions. 

Dr. El Naggar plays an active role in medical education and training within the NHS. He is involved in supervising foundation and specialty trainees and provides hands-on teaching in endoscopy, acute medicine, and clinical reasoning.
