Dr Sethi is a substantive NHS Dermatology consultant at London Northwest University hospital trust, working at Northwick Park and Ealing hospitals.

She qualified from Imperial College, London in 2009 with a first class intercalated BSc. After completion of medical training, Dr Sethi undertook a 4-year PhD at St John’s Institute of Dermatology, where she investigated the mechanisms of sun damage, skin cancer and skin ageing, funded by a prestigious Clinical Research Training Fellowship awarded by the Medical Research Council. For the duration of her research years, Dr Sethi continued to work as a medical registrar at Whipps Cross hospital, giving her significant experience in general medicine. During her PhD, Dr Sethi published first-named author articles in peer-reviewed journals, including the British Journal of Dermatology, the Journal of Investigative Dermatology, the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and Nature Protocols. She has presented her research internationally in Japan and Vienna. In 2016 Dr Sethi was shortlisted for the Royal Society of Medicine AbbVie Dermatology research prize. In 2019, she won a prize for an oral presentation on her PhD research in the British Association of Dermatology Photodermatology group section meeting.

After her PhD was awarded, Dr Sethi successfully applied for a Dermatology training rotation in London, working at St Mary’s, Charing Cross and Chelsea & Westminster hospitals, which gave her a solid foundation in general Dermatology. During her training, Dr Sethi held a 2-year role as the national trainee representative for the Dermatology Specialist Advisory Committee. Dr Sethi has experience collaborating with specialist Industry brands in Dermatology: she has been involved in advisory board meetings for Vichy UK (L’Oréal) and has been invited to give teaching lectures on acne and eczema in primary care by La Roche Posay. In 2020, Dr Sethi partnered with BIODERMA to deliver a half-day national Dermatology congress for consultants and registrars across the UK. She continues to be actively involved in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Dr Sethi excels in minor skin operations with primary closure, having completed over 500 operations during her training. From her time spent at Chelsea and Westminster hospital, she has developed a special interest in managing patients with genital skin diseases and hopes to develop this further in the future.
