Dr Michael Walker is a GP who is passionate about optimising lifestyle measures to help maintain and promote the optimal health and well-being of their patients. He focuses on empowering patients to take control of their lifestyle and health through key lifestyle areas such as exercise and nutrition.
He believes strongly in the importance of community, relationships, purpose and belonging in supporting patients towards good health and well-being.
Dr Walker has a particular interest in sleep medicine and are a qualified CBT practitioner specialising in insomnia. They are currently undertaking a further qualification in outdoor and adventure therapeutic practice.
He is a family-oriented individual, motivated to improve the lives and well-being of others and driven by their own personal values and beliefs.
Dr Walker takes a personalised approach to each individual patient, encouraging, educating and enabling them to make sustained, meaningful changes that support better health and well-being outcomes.
He has experience in developing and leading wellness hubs and leading patient participation groups through their clinical practice, where they have harnessed the power of collaboration and community to good effect. This reflects their strongly patient-centred approach.
Dr Walker is a keen sportsperson who enjoys cycling, swimming and running most days, while also enjoying skiing, fell running and surfing.
Dr Walker qualified from St George's Medical School in London in 2016, having previously enjoyed a career that included senior leadership roles within the pharmaceutical industry.
He subsequently undertook academic medical training, developing particular interests in sports cardiology and inherited heart conditions at both St George's and the University of Oxford.
Dr Walker has received consistent positive feedback from patients, highlighting the compassionate, empathic, trustworthy, professional and attentive approach they bring to their work as a doctor. This reflects both their character and their personal values.
