About Dr Michael Reed

Personal Profile

Dr Reed has been a Consultant Rheumatologist and Physician at Gartnavel General Hospital and Queen Elizabeth University Hospital since 2019. There, he treats patients with a wide range of rheumatological conditions.

Dr Reed graduated in 2009 from the University of Glasgow. He also has a B.Sc.(Hons) in Biomedical Science. He completed his specialist training in both Rheumatology and General Medicine in the West of Scotland. 

Dr Reed is Education Lead for the Rheumatology Managed Clinical Network in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. He is also Lead for the Musculoskeletal Medicine Block at the University of Glasgow Medical School. He was appointed as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Glasgow in 2019.

Dr Reed is involved in innovative research projects, developing new treatments for inflammatory arthritis. He has also gained expertise in ultrasound assessment of joints.
