Mr Matthew Trotter is a Consultant ENT Surgeon with a subspecialist interest in otology, encompassing ear, hearing, and balance disorders in both adults and children. He graduated from Birmingham University Medical School in 1995 and completed surgical training in the West Midlands. In 2007–2008, he was awarded the Thomas Wickham Jones Travelling Fellowship, spending 12 months at the Royal Eye and Ear Hospital and Bionic Ear Institute in Melbourne, Australia, where he developed his expertise in ear and hearing disorders.
Matthew is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and holds a postgraduate Master’s degree from Warwick University (2007). He has comprehensive training in the medical and surgical management of adult and paediatric ear, nose, and throat conditions, including voice, snoring, swallowing difficulties, and sinus and allergy-related issues.
He provides a specialist otology service, performing all major hearing restoration surgeries, including stapedectomy for otosclerosis, ossiculoplasty, cholesteatoma surgery, and bone-anchored hearing aid implantation. Matthew is committed to delivering patient-centred care and advancing clinical outcomes through both surgical expertise and multidisciplinary collaboration.
