Personal Profile

Personal Profile

Dr Sawa has 10 years of experience as a Consultant Psychiatrist and has been a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists since 2006.  He is a full-time NHS Consultant and runs private clinics in Harley Street and West London.   He has extensive experience in this field and had acted as a Clinical Advisor for the General Pharmaceutical Council for several years.

“The process of finding a knowledgeable and trustworthy Psychiatrist can be very emotionally draining, confusing and daunting. I am fully aware of how courageous it is to attend the first Psychiatrist’s appointment. I know as well that this stage is the outcome of a long process started a while back by recognising that there is something not right and it needs addressing. I am wholly mindful as well that the response of loved ones and friends can range from being supportive and understanding to totally dismissive and judgmental. “

Mr Sawa currently works as a substantive full-time NHS Consultant in a busy home treatment team in west London. He has been a Consultant Psychiatrist since 2010, on completing his higher training specialising in General Adult and Rehabilitation Psychiatry. Mr Sawa was awarded with Distinction, a Master Degree in Healthcare Education and Clinical Leadership by Kingston University, London. He has been a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) in 2006 on completing all the relevant exams and other requirements.

He also acted as a Clinical Advisor for the Royal Pharmaceutical Council for several years, and led various audits, research and quality improvement activities throughout his career.

Mr Sawa started his career in Psychiatry in 2002 on completing his initial Junior Doctor internship. He has worked as a trainee doctor in Psychiatry in London, Kent, Norfolk and Cheshire exposing himself to a wide range of cultures within the UK.

The following is a recent feedback from one of Mr Sawa’s patients:

“Dr. Sawa is an excellent psychiatrist. He was very professional, compassionate and helpful. He gave me clear guidance and a treatment plan which we both agreed upon. Despite what I feel must be his very busy schedule, it was great that he was able to respond to my emails seeking his advice in between appointments. He was very beneficial to my wellbeing. I would highly recommend him to anyone struggling with mental health.“
