Dr Knight is a Consultant Physician in Respiratory Medicine at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust and the Medical Director at Medefer. He sees patients privately with respiratory problems such as breathlessness, cough and chest pains at The Clementine Churchill Hospital in north London. 

Dr Knight has an interest in unexplained breathlessness, and regularly performs cardio-pulmonary exercise testing (CPEX) alongside standard clinical assessment. He is actively involved in research and has published widely over recent years, most latterly around Long Covid, out of hospital management of respiratory diseases and the role of technology in remote care of patients. Along with Dr Andy Barlow and colleagues from NHSX he pioneered some of the early work on "Virtual Covid Wards", for which he was awarded an MBE. 

He qualified from University College London in 2005 and undertook respiratory speciality training in the northwest Thames Respiratory training programme, rotating via the Royal Free, Hammersmith, Royal Brompton, Harefield, Barnet, Northwick Park and Watford General hospitals. He also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Allergy Medicine at Imperial College London.
 
He is actively involved with the specialist training and education of junior doctors both locally in Watford and previously at a national level with Health Education England where he was an Associate Postgraduate Dean. He sits as a non-executive director on the board of Penrose Care, a registered provider of home care services in northwest London.

Dr Knight manages patients with a wide range of respiratory problems, but has a particular interest in the following areas of Respiratory Medicine:

  • Asthma and Respiratory allergies

Dr Knight works closely with his colleagues in the Chest Clinic as well as colleagues in Respiratory Physiology, Cardiology, Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Radiology and Thoracic surgery to ensure that patients treated by him receive the best possible care.
