Mr Tomlinson currently runs a private practice across two CHG sites: Lancaster Hospital and Bath Clinic. His private work focuses on modern varicose vein treatments, hernia repair, and gallbladder surgery. He also undertakes minor surgical procedures, including the removal of skin lumps and cysts, as well as injection treatments for thread veins.
He provides outpatient assessment and management for thyroid and neck lumps, vascular conditions, and leg ulcers, and is able to offer extended consultations for more complex or challenging abdominal problems when appropriate.
The majority of his operative work is carried out using minimally invasive (keyhole or laparoscopic) techniques, supporting faster recovery and reduced postoperative discomfort.
Mr Tomlinson has held a number of senior leadership and educational roles, including Lead for General Surgery, Lead for Thyroid Cancer Surgery, and Surgical Tutor for the Royal College of Surgeons. He also served as Lead for Vascular Surgery for seven years.
