Personal Profile

Dr Marc Atkin, Consultant in Diabetes & Endocrinology and General Medicine, graduated from Southampton Medical School in 1997 and completed his training in various hospitals on the south coast of England. He undertook his research into cardiovascular disease in diabetes with Prof Cummings in Portsmouth and obtained an MD in 2011 and joined the RUH in Bath as a Consultant in 2012.

Dr Atkin is currently Clinical Lead of the Diabetes & Endocrinology Dept at RUH, Bath. He has an interest in inpatient diabetes, diabetic foot disease and service redesign.

Dr Atkin is also the Diabetes Clinical Lead of SW CV Network for NHS England and has been involved in writing national diabetes policy for NHS England, Association of British Clinical Diabetologists & Diabetes UK.
