In 2009 he was awarded advanced endoscopy fellowship to the National Cancer Centre, Tokyo, Japan where he trained in advanced techniques of early cancer recognition and endoscopic management including Endomucosal Resection (EMR) and Endosocpic Submucosal Dissection (ESD).
He is an experienced endoscopist in upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy (gastroscopy and colonoscopy with ileoscopy). He can insert stents into the gullet to relieve obstruction, treat narrowing of the gullet with balloon dilatation and insert feeding tubes. This is in addition to the treatment of gastrointestinal emergencies such as peptic ulcer or variceal bleeding.
He is the only Joint Advisory Group on Gastrointestinal Endoscopy accredited colorectal cancer screening Colonoscopist in Swindon and performs a weekly screening list at the Great Western Hospital.
