Mr. Dube began his medical journey by completing his MBBS degree, followed by his MS (Master of Surgery), which laid the foundation for his career in general surgery. He further honed his surgical skills by obtaining the MRCS (Edinburgh), gaining experience across various surgical disciplines, and developing a keen interest in breast surgery. He later achieved the prestigious FRCS (England) qualification, reflecting his commitment to surgical excellence.
To enhance his expertise in breast surgery, Mr. Dube pursued further specialisation and obtained the FEBS (Fellow of the European Board of Surgery) with distinction and a third place, focusing on breast surgery. This qualification signifies his advanced knowledge and skill in managing oncological and reconstructive aspects of breast surgery, placing him among the frontline breast surgeons.
Mr. Dube has undergone rigorous postgraduate training in oncoplastic breast surgery, allowing him to integrate oncological principles with plastic surgery techniques to achieve optimal outcomes for his patients. His training includes comprehensive exposure to breast cancer surgery, breast conservation, mastectomy, and reconstruction procedures using both implant-based and autologous tissue methods.
With over a decade of experience in the field, Mr. Dube has managed a wide range of breast conditions, from early-stage cancer to more complex cases requiring reconstruction following mastectomy. He specialises in oncoplastic techniques that preserve or restore breast aesthetics while ensuring effective cancer treatment. His surgical expertise includes breast-conserving surgery, sentinel lymph node biopsy, skin-sparing and nipple-sparing mastectomy, chest wall perforator flap-based partial breast reconstruction and immediate and delayed breast reconstruction using implants.
Mr Dube is known for his patient-centred approach, providing individualised care that addresses his patients' physical, emotional, and psychological needs. He collaborates closely with a multidisciplinary team (MDT) of oncologists, radiologists, and breast care nurses to ensure that each patient receives comprehensive care tailored to their unique circumstances. He is currently the Breast Cancer and Breast MDT lead at Kings Mill Hospital.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr. Dube is deeply committed to teaching and training the next generation of breast surgeons and healthcare professionals. He plays an active role in medical education within the NHS, regularly teaching medical students, junior doctors, and surgical trainees. He provides hands-on training in surgical techniques, clinical decision-making, and patient management, focusing on developing well-rounded surgeons who excel in care's technical and humanistic aspects.
He is keen on promoting evidence-based practice and regularly supervises breast surgery trainees, helping them gain the skills and confidence necessary to perform complex procedures.
Mr. Dube is actively involved in research aimed at improving surgical outcomes for breast cancer patients. His work focuses on developing innovative oncoplastic techniques, improving surgical margins' accuracy, and enhancing breast reconstruction's safety and efficacy. He has contributed to multiple research projects, and his findings have been published in leading peer-reviewed journals.
Additionally, Mr Dube presents his research and clinical expertise at national and international conferences, where he shares his insights with fellow surgeons and healthcare professionals. His work on chest wall perforator flaps, reducing surgical site infection following breast surgery, and post-operative pain relief are well recognised among his peers.
Throughout his career, Mr. Dube has maintained a strong commitment to providing his patients with the highest standards of care. His ability to combine oncological precision with aesthetic considerations allows him to deliver outstanding outcomes that improve his patients' survival and quality of life. His compassionate approach to care and technical expertise ensure that patients feel supported and informed throughout their treatment journey.
