After graduating from medical school from the University of Jordan, he completed his urological training programme in the East Midlands Deanery. He spent his last year of training at the stone unit at Nottingham University Hospitals developing his surgical skills to treat patients with stone disease. Following his training, Manar pursued a RCS accredited robotic fellowship in kidney cancer surgery at Frimley Park Hospital, where he honed his skills in a high-volume, internationally recognised centre of excellence.
His practice is comprehensive and includes managing a wide spectrum of urological conditions. His goal is to ensure every patient receives a swift diagnosis and a treatment plan that is tailored specifically to their needs and lifestyle, delivered with compassion and the highest standards of safety.
His unique specialisation is the routine use of the retroperitoneal approach for kidney surgery. This advanced keyhole method accesses the kidney from the back, entirely avoiding the main abdominal cavity. For patients, this means less internal disturbance, reduced pain, shorter hospital stay, and a remarkably fast recovery. Due to this expertise, he regularly accepts tertiary referrals from other hospitals for patients with challenging cases.
Mr Malki chairs the Renal Cancer Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) at his NHS Trust. With the renal cancer team, he develops a personalised treatment plan for each patient.
His commitment to the field also extends to training the next generation of surgeons. He is a certified proctor for two leading robotic platforms, which means he is officially entrusted to teach and mentor other consultant surgeon colleagues across the UK to develop their robotic skills.
He has led several service improvements in his hospital, including the development of a pioneering digital follow-up pathway for patients with stone disease.
Mr Malki is dedicated to delivering world-class, evidence-based care, and published multiple peer-reviewed papers and book chapters. His surgical outcomes are meticulously recorded and audited, consistently meeting national benchmarks.
When he is not in the hospital, Mr Malki cherishes his time with his family. They enjoy living in the Farnham area and often take advantage of the beautiful local countryside for walks.
