About Mahmoud Shafii

Personal Profile

Mr Shafii graduated from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1992 and had a diverse training in urology and transplantation in Dublin. He dedicated time to research in Queen’s University prestigious physiology department and obtained a higher degree in Master of Surgery in 2004. Mr Shafii undertook urological training in an accredited training post as a Specialist Registrar in South Wales having worked in University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, Newport and Morriston Hospital in Swansea. During his training, he developed a special interest in the treatment of prostate and kidney diseases and minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgery. He was appointed as a substantive consultant urological surgeon at West Wales Hospital, Carmarthen and Withybush Hospital, Pembrokeshire in 2010.

Mr Shafii has published papers and co-authored a book chapter on male lower urinary tract symptoms and prostate problems in elderly men. He is a member of British Association of Urological Surgeons and European Association of Urology
