About Dr Maged Gharib

Personal Profile

Dr Gharib has been a Consultant Haematologist since 2005.

He has a long experience in diagnosing and treating various benign and malignant blood disorders, including leukaemia, lymphomas and myelomas. Dr Gharib is also the Clinical Lead in thrombosis and anti-coagulation in STHK NHS Trust; he is interested in studying and managing patients' risk of thrombosis. He is the Principal Investigator for the first national trial looking at treating cancer induced thrombosis with the oral anti-coagulant, Rivaroxaban.

Dr Gharib has background experience in internal medicine from 1991 to 1998, which provides an excellent foundation in analysing patients symptoms and wider horizon in diagnosis and management.

He has published a wide range of research papers, case reports and textbook chapters and prides himself in the level of clinical and patient care.
