In colorectal surgery, Ms Stevenson specialises in the treatment of benign colorectal conditions, including:

 Ms Stevenson also offers sacral neuromodulation therapy with the InterStim™ System, at Albyn Hospital. This treatment can help improve faecal incontinence. It works by modulating the nerves that control bowel function.

Training and experience

Ms Stevenson graduated in medicine from the University of Aberdeen in 2001. She then went on to complete a Master’s degree in Medical Law at the University of Glasgow in 2009, where her with her final dissertation was on consent. In 2010, she became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She was selected for a prestigious Ethicon fellowship in laparoscopic (keyhole) colorectal surgery in 2011.

Her current professional memberships include the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGBI) and she has been a Regional Surgical Advisor for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
