Louisa completed her undergraduate training at Imperial College, London in 2007. During her undergraduate time she obtained a first class honours degree in Neuroscience. This sparked her interest in neurology as a medical specialty.
After qualifying, Louisa completed her junior doctor training in the Oxford deanery. She studied in the motor neuron disease research group under Professor Kevin Talbot, and obtained a D Phil in clinical neurosciences in 2016. Clinical training was primarily based at the John Radcliffe Hospital, but she also spent a year at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London. She completed a fellowship in neuromuscular disorders in Oxford in 2023, gaining experience in working with patients with muscle disorders, spinal muscular atrophy and mitochondrial disorders. She gained experience in genetics and in caring for people with complex problems.
She qualified as a consultant neurologist in 2024. Since then she has been doing general neurology clinics and also working for the rare mitochondrial disorders service in Oxford. She remains interested in all aspects of general neurology. She uses her knowledge and experience to work with patients, listening to what is important to them.
