About Dr Liezel Griffin

Dr Personal Profile

Dr Griffin completed medical school in London and continued her general medical training in Manchester where she has practiced since 2010. She has worked in dermatology for 10 years and qualified as a Consultant Dermatologist in 2019 after completing the prestigious North West Deanery training programme.

Her NHS practice is based at Salford Royal Hospital, where she works in general dermatology and specialist clinics. She is a caring and compassionate doctor who understands the impact of skin disease and the importance of holistic patient care. She is clinical and governance lead for the phototherapy service and lead for the supra-regional cutaneous porphyria service, with a special interest in erythropoietic protoporphyria.

She is active in clinical trials investigating new treatments in dermatology and has presented her research at national and international conferences. Her work has been published in high impact medical journals and she is involved in working groups formulating treatment guidelines. Dr Griffin contributes to the training and teaching programmes for dermatology residents, trainee GPs and medical students.
