About Laurence Glancz

Personal Profile

Mr Glancz was appointed a substantive consultant Neurosurgeon at the Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC) in Nottingham in March 2023. His undergraduate and postgraduate mainly training took place in London, Nottingham and Manchester, including the Royal College of Surgeons approved Neuro-oncology Fellowship in Nottingham and the prestigious Manchester Skullbase fellowship. During training Mr Glancz has received more than 30 awards, many of which were national. He is a highly skilled surgeon having been trained in all aspects of cranial, spinal and peripheral nerve neurosurgery. 

His elective practice at Queen’s Medical Centre focuses on the highly specialist care for patients with complex tumours and abnormalities in difficult to reach areas at the base of the skull, brain, pituitary gland and junction of the brain and spine - the latest minimally invasive endoscopic techniques are employed along with traditional open approaches where needed to tailor the best approach to each individual case. He also provides a general elective and emergency brain and spine practice, which includes a weekly outreach clinic in Leicester.

Mr Glancz has an academic and clinical track record of excellence, having been the highest scoring candidate across the UK in the first part of the Neurosurgery FRCS examination. He has 33 publications and has presented widely at conferences. He was awarded an honorary assistant Professorship at the University of Nottingham within 6 months of becoming a consultant. Mr Glancz is committed to providing the highest quality of care to patients.
