Miss Thomson further enhanced her expertise through a series of distinguished fellowships, including those focused on foot and ankle under the mentorship of the past president of BOFAS; Miss Patricia Allen. Notably, she was awarded the prestigious 'Andrew Wines' Fellowship in Sydney, Australia, receiving the Gold BOFAS travelling fellowship in recognition of this.
Her fellowships encompassed a comprehensive scope of foot and ankle care, including the adept management of sports injuries in professional athletes. Additionally, Miss Thomson pursued specialised training in polytrauma management at the Queen Elizabeth in Birmingham and engaged in humanitarian work in Gwagwalada, Nigeria during her training.
Demonstrating a profound interest in medical education, Miss Thomson developed an educational app for medical students and trainees, contributing significantly to skill enhancement. She served as an Honorary Lecturer at The University of Leicester and currently holds the position of an Examiner at the ON Orthopaedic FRCS VIVA course. Miss Thomson has made notable contributions to orthopaedic literature, with numerous published articles and book chapters under her name.
Equipped with a robust education and diverse training, she is able to manage a broad spectrum of issues, including trauma, fractures, ankle joint replacements, tendinopathies, forefoot conditions, bunions, flat feet, high arches, and the application of minimally invasive hindfoot surgery.
