Mr Makam gained experience in gastrointestinal surgery, general surgery, thyroid and parathyroid surgery and worked as Consultant in Middle East for 3 years performing all types of elective and emergency surgical procedures. He has worked in various hospitals in UK for 15 years to gain exposure to vascular surgery, gastrointestinal surgery and neck surgery and also worked as Post CCT fellow at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge and gained maximum exposure to breast cancer surgery, parathyroid surgery and Breast Reconstruction techniques. Mr Makam has been working as consultant in NHS for the last 12 years.
After working various departments, he is now specialising in treating breast lumps, management of breast pain, nipple disorders (retraction, inversion, discharge etc), breast infections, breast cancer surgery. He is also specialising in surgery of thyroid nodules, overworking thyroid gland (thyrotoxicosis), parathyroid gland disorders causing high calcium in the body eg: adenoma. He also performs hernia repairs (open repairs ) eg; groin hernia, belly button(umbilical), incisional hernia. Surgery of lumps and bumps eg: lipoma / fibroma , over tummy, legs, hands, face etc.
