About Mr Kevin McMillan

Mr Kevin McMillan is a specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with over 15 years of surgical experience. Mr McMillan is qualified in Medicine and Dentistry from the University of London. He is a member of the Faculty of Dentistry of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in England.

Mr McMillan has trained extensively in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as well as completing a Fellowship in Craniofacial Surgery at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. He has subspecialist interests in Paediatric Maxillofacial Surgery, Craniofacial Deformity and Trauma, as well as Vascular Anomalies in the head and neck.

With a passion for education and training, he is the Educational Lead for Specialist Registrar training at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. Additionally he organises a National Revision Course for Specialist Trainees in Maxillofacial Surgery on an annual basis. He is a NOTTS (non technical skills for surgeons) Faculty Member and engages in training other surgeons on improving safety and performance in the operating theatre.

He has contributed to a wide variety of Peer Reviewed Publications as well as authoring chapters in several text books. He has authored a revision book for the MRCS examination. He has presented extensively nationally and internationally on his specialist subjects.

He splits his NHS practice between the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Birmingham Children’s Hospital. He is engaged in pushing surgical frontiers and is motivated to help patients with the most challenging of surgical problems.

Mr McMillan provides private orthognathic (jaw surgery) in conjuction with his colleague Rhodri Williams.
