Mr Keith G Jones is a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at Frimley Health Foundation Trust working at both Frimley Park Hospital in Camberley and Wexham Park Hospital in Slough. He had previously been a Consultant at St George’s and Kingston between 2008 and 2016 and prior to that a Consultant at King’s College Hospital 2005-08. Keith qualified originally at St Bartholomew’s Hospital London, then began surgical training in Reading and Oxford before undertaking Higher Surgical training in South West Thames. He undertook research into Aortic Aneurysms at Charing Cross Hospital with his work published in the prestigious Circulation Journal and for which he was awarded a higher degree (MS).

As a trainee Keith was the representative to the Vascular Society and as a Consultant he has had a strong interest in training was an Inaugural Vascular Training Programme Director, the Deputy Chair of the Vascular Surgery Specialist Advisory Committee and the 2021 Curriculum lead. In 2018 Keith was elected the Chair of the Vascular Society Training and Education Committee. He is also an examiner for the Joint Committee of Intercollegiate Examinations FRCS (Vasc) examination. Since November Keith has been the Surgical director of the Intercollegiate Surgical Curriculum Programme.

While having undertaking all aspects of arterial and venous disease, Keith has helped develop minimally invasive (endovenous/ keyhole) varicose vein surgery in each of his Consultant posts. He also has a particular interest in lower limb arterial disease with respect to prevention, early recognition and surgical intervention. He has set up award winning Diabetic Foot clinics with a track record for enhanced limb salvage. He is regularly asked to lecture and teach on these topics.

 

 

Clinical Interests

Keith provides a full range of Vascular Surgery Practice. With respect to Venous disease he has developed a practice assessing all aspects of leg swelling and for Varicose Veins provides a wide range of interventions that has followed the development of minimally invasive techniques (such as Radiofrequency Ablation) with rapid recovery.

With respect to arterial disease Keith has a particular interest in lower limb salvage surgery that is based on a practice of early and thorough arterial assessment of both peripheral vascular disease and the arterial change of diabetes with its Diabetic Foot presentations. Keith has a full practice in the management of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms and Carotid Surgery for the prevention of Stroke.
