Dr Keefai Yeong is a Consultant Physician and Orthogeriatrician with a wealth of experience spanning more than 15 years. He has dedicated his career to the specialised care of older adults, with a focus on improving outcomes and quality of life for elderly patients.

Training and Appointment

Dr Yeong qualified from Guys and St Thomas’ Hospitals, London and completed his postgraduate training locally within the Kent, Surrey and Sussex region. In addition to this, he has trained in various sub-specialist units including the Renal Unit at the Middlesex and the Royal Marsden Hospitals. He provides a level of care that has been recognised nationally as one of the best and has one of the lowest mortality rates for this group of frail elderly patients. His team were runners up in the 2014 British Medical Journal (BMJ) Clinical Leadership Award for hip fracture care.

Current Practice

Dr Yeong is an expert in the management of a wide range of conditions commonly seen in elderly patients. His areas of expertise include hypertension, syncope (faints), dizziness, and urinary incontinence, all of which are prevalent in the aging population.

He is particularly skilled in addressing functional decline and deconditioning, helping patients regain their independence and quality of life through tailored rehabilitation programs. Recognising the unique challenges faced by older adults, Dr Yeong provides comprehensive perioperative assessments to ensure that elderly patients are well-prepared for surgery, reducing the risk of complications and improving post-operative outcomes. A key aspect of his care philosophy is the symptomatic management of common chronic conditions in older adults, including dementia, delirium, falls and unexplained weight loss.
