Mr Watfah trained as a General surgeon in Austria. He spent two and a half years as a consultant in a colorectal unit at the university hospital in Salzburg/Austria, which ran an inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer service.

In 2010/2011 he was Clinical fellow and the resident surgical officer at St. Marks Hospital with Prof. Phillips, Miss Vaizey and Mr Wausavitarne. Since August 2014 he has held a substantive post at Northwick Park/St.Mark’s Hospitals as a general surgeon with special interest in emergency general surgery (open and laparoscopic).

He is the Clinical Lead for surgical Clinical Governance and Lead of SAU (Surgical Assessment Unit), a Recognised Trainer by the GMC (General Medical Council). He is an examiner on PACES (Final year students exams), Core Trainee Interview Panel Member, CCrISP (Care of the Critically Ill Surgical Patients) course faculty member. Mr Watfah is the Educational and Clinical supervisor for junior trainees. He also organises surgical meetings, including the St. Marks meets Salzburg 2013 and Emergency surgery - an emerging speciality (RSM 2016).
