His initial training was in Surgery, and he passed FRCS (RCPS Glasg) in 1984. He decided to transfer to training in Radiology, and was appointed to the Manchester Radiology Training scheme in 1986. He spent 8 months as a Visiting Assistant Professor in Interventional Radiology at The University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore USA, between November 1991 and July 1992.
He was appointed Consultant Radiologist at Bolton Hospitals NHS Trust in November 1993 and practised there until January 2004. He was subsequently appointed Consultant Radiologist at Wythenshawe Hospital in January 2004, until present time. His main interests are in Uroradiology (kidneys, bladders and prostates) – both benign and malignant diseases.
He has been involved in practical training of radiology trainees over the years, and has delivered lectures and presentations at local, regional and national meetings. He has a number of case reports and publications in the literature. Dr Tuck is proud of his ability to communicate effectively with patients and gain their trust and respect in managing their illnesses.
He also undertakes minimally invasive treatment of kidney cancers by cryoablation, in conjunction with urology colleagues.
